Amanda + Doug
Heartwood Conference Center
… at a grill in St. Cloud. Amanda was working, Doug and his crew were rained out. After a few sassy exchanges and a discovered fondness for the Webb Lake area, Doug stepped out of his shy shell and left his number on his bar tab. It didn’t take much time for their romance to spark and they were together all the time. From hanging out with the guys to attending festivals and taking road trips to concerts, they quickly also found their best friend in each other. Over the years they’ve experienced their ups and downs, but their friendship and love for each other has always brought them back to each other. They still enjoy taking new adventures and making new memories every chance they get!
Tell us about the proposal!
Amanda: “We were engaged at country music festival
In Minong- only about 7 miles from the venue where we would eventually get married! It was just Doug and I camping out in the truck tent I had bought as an anniversary gift for us the year prior. We love our country music and we love camping, so it was the perfect low key weekend- well, until the organizers of the festival learned of our engagement and the evening became a whirlwind of celebrating! Shortly after the engagement we were in full on planning mode! (Okay, so maybe only I was.)”
What was a favorite moment from the wedding day?
Amanda: “One of our favorite moments was our first look. It was such a raw moment, and truly the moment that seemed as if it stood still in time and we got to enjoy the excitement of the day alone for just a sliver of time.”
“Another memorable moment involved our furry little one. He is one of the best and well behaved dogs (maybe we’re a little biased). However, right in the middle of photos he chose that moment to run off and roll in poop, and not just a little poop … A LOT OF POOP! He was completely covered in it! Needless to say, his photo session was cut short and two amazing friends hauled him off for a much needed bath!” -Amanda
